HISTORY

Kanakkupillai Valasai (KPV) is well-known as the birthplace of the Assemblies of God work in Tamil Nadu, where Rev. & Mrs. Edwards treaded the soil as pioneers in the year 1948. Many educational and vocational training institutions were established in and around Kanakkupillai Valasai. Establishing a Bible training centre was just a matter of time.

In August 1993 the, Trinity Bible College was established to train young women for ministry in Tamil Nadu and other parts of India. The desire to train young women in ministry which was in the hearts of many servants of God became a reality when Miss Colleen Guinn obeyed the call of God to start a Bible School for the women of India at Kanakkupillai Valasai. The first program offered was the Diploma in Christian Ministry.

Trinity added the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) programme from 2003-’04. Trinity was accredited later by the Asia Theological Association (ATA) in 2009-’10, which renamed the previous programme Diploma in Ministry(D.C.M.), to Diploma in Theology (Dip.Th.)
